This blog is for those who want to be healthier and happier through helping themselves.  It is not a substitute for professional advice on any of the topics it covers.  These topics include strategies for improving health through exercising regularly and eating/supplmenting well as well as strategies for improving one's emotional health through positive relationships.  

In an earlier version of this blog, the focus was on relationship self-help.  The book: Self Help In Sight:  Self Help with Relationships and Relationship Loss is still available as are the posts on relationships that populated the blog from its beginnings.  Going forward the blog will honor its roots and expand to include other areas where self-care on a day to day basis can make a tremendous difference.

One of these areas will be the self-care of achieving peace of mind (ataraxis).  

Often the barrier between the life one is living and the life one wants to live is not information or "how-to".  Instead, it is the determination to change.  While the process of change can be made easier if one knows that all change is uncomfortable at first and that practice will increase the level of comfort, there is NO SUBSTITUTE for persistence or stubbornness.  

This blog will endeavor to provide the information and point out the benefits of change:  the insight you are seeking.  Only YOU can provide the determination to make a change.  In other words, my part of the bargain is providing the information, including benefits, in a way that changes your belief(s) about what behavior is positive.  Your part is implementing the behavior change if it promises and starts to produce the results you are seeking.

Ultimately, you must find your own way (the self-help part) and hopefully enjoy the journey of finding it.
