Foundation

Let’s face it…most relationships you have in life don’t work out. – Alex Bennett.
Human beings are social by nature and inclined to form relationships with each other.  These relationships are typically based on shared values and interests. Your values and interests are an expression of who you are.  In this way who you are becomes a foundation from which you relate to others. If you are not sure of who you are or you are willing to put aside who you are in order to sustain a relationship, the foundation of your relationships is fragile. The guidance you will find in this site comes from the perspective that knowing who you are and remaining true to your self is required to have healthy and fulfilling relationships. Just like a home needs a solid foundation, all relationships need a solid foundation to build on. In the essay and blog entries to follow, there will be more detail about the foundation of relationships as well as how to figure out who you are and how to stay true to your self. After all, as the quote suggests, you get multiple chances to form relationships. Why not work on getting better (healthier) at it?
