Presidential Inauguration Celebration
Yesterday’s inauguration of Barack Obama as president was as an emotionally charged a public event as I have witnessed. People of all ilks seem to be moved and inspired in a powerful way. I know in my community and at the gathering I attended, the celebration and emotion connected with it was palpable.
What does the presidential inauguration have to do with Self Help In Sight? Nothing really and certainly nothing to do with self-help in romantic relationships. But, I think Obama would endorse the idea of self-help with guidance. I do not think he is calling for people to depend of others or institutions to care for them or guarantee them happiness. Rather, I think he is asking leaders and institutions to set the stage for people to succeed–in accord with the belief that “all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness”.
If this site was offering self-help in pursing one’s full measure of happiness, I would suggest specific things to start and guide the effort. Instead, this site is focused on self-help in relationships and offers the associated guidance. I like to think Obama would approve.
